Financial Planner Financial Advisor Investment Advisor Representative
Office Locations: Indianapolis IN, Merrillville IN
I truly offer a holistic planning approach rooted in providing advice and guidance aimed at clarifying things for my clients.
Why clients choose to work with Andrea:
My clients often felt that their prior financial professionals seemed primarily interested in doing things that would elicit some sort of compensation. In me, those clients say that they have found a planner totally focused on their needs. As we build their Success Stories, we might discuss one specific financial matter and, in working through that primary concern, other needs surface and are addressed. My process is built around meeting the client’s needs, first, last and foremost.
Secrets to her Success
I Put myself in my clients’ positions. This drives me to constantly deepen and improve my knowledge, array of offerings and my client relationships.
More Information about Andrea
I was fortunate to grow up in a household where money discussions were common. I remember my dad taking us to the library on Saturday mornings so he could research mutual fund prices from the prior week in printed newspapers. He would show us how those price changes and fund values affected how much college money we would have. In my freshman year of college, I took a Financial Mathematics course. Having mathematical equations and problems involving dollars and cents made me lean into that course. This led me to a dual major in management and marketing..
I liked the ideas of helping people and working with personal finance, which led me to the Financial Services industry. I started as a Chase Bank personal banker in Illinois and was then promoted to train bankers in Colorado. MetLife recruited me to become an advisor working with K-12 school retirement programs. My mother was a high school French teacher and I knew firsthand how underserved that community was in the area of financial education. I worked with MetLife in Colorado for eight years, specifically focusing on that market, helping educators to Build their Success Stories.
As our family began to expand with the birth of our first daughter in 2014, Todd and I wanted to be closer to our family in Ohio. I knew of One to One Financial Advisors as a major presence within the MetLife universe and, when I discovered that they were seeking to add an advisor with my background, we decided to move to Indianapolis. We relocated in the fall of 2016 and our second daughter was born in January, 2017. Since then, our firm has transitioned from MetLife to MassMutual (although we still oversee the MetLife programs). I’ve been able to continue with my mission of building educators’ Success Stories in Indiana, also continuing to work with many clients in Colorado and elsewhere, as their lives have moved them to different places.
Personal Interests and Motivators
I love going on adventures with my kids (as adventurous as kids under the age of 10 can be). We have considered getting an RV to explore the path less traveled and plan for larger excursions, once the kids get a little older.
- Watching Big Ten football “Go Blue!!!”
- Binge-watching business themed dramas like Mad Men, Billions and Succession
- Giving my husband withering looks when he buys antique tools
